Jon Sullivan joined Brit Insurance in September 2011 as Head of Property Treaty. Previously Jon had been SVP at Torus London having transferred from Torus Bermuda to start up the London reinsurance desk. Jon joined Torus through the 2009 acquisition of the Newcastle Re portfolio from Citadel. Jon joined Citadel in early 2005 and as Senior Underwriter assisted in developing both the CIG Re and New Castle Re brands in the collateralised and rated paper markets. Prior to Citadel Jon was CUO International at ACE Tempest Re Bermuda having joined ACE in 2001. Before moving to Bermuda Jon was Senior underwriter at GE Frankona in London from 1998 to 2001. Jon began his reinsurance career as a broker at EW Payne and later on Willis with particular focus on International and retrocessional clients. Jon is ACII qualified and has a B.Eng in Mining Engineering from Leeds University. In the early part of 2017, Jon was given the added responsibility of heading up all Short Tail lines and in August 2018 became Active Underwriter for Syndicate 2987. In early 2019 Jon became Group Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer before being appointed Group Chief Underwriting Officer in 2023.
