Andy began his insurance career at CT Bowring Reinsurance Ltd in 1989, obtaining valuable experience across all Personal Accident & Health classes specialising in Direct, Facultative & Treaty business. During his time he assumed senior roles within several specialist brokers, including Rattner Mackenzie & Aon Benfield. Andy joined Brit Syndicate 2987 in February 2009 having spent 20 years as a producing broker transacting business in all major global markets.

He was promoted to head of A&H in September 2010, building a highly recognised leading Lloyd’s underwriting team across all classes including Personal Accident, Medical Expenses, Contingency, Kidnap & Ransom and Bloodstock. During this time he has overseen much profitable underwriting action whilst hiring high quality talent in the process.

He also spearheaded collaboration across the Fairfax parent group of companies completing several highly profitable initiatives. Furthermore, he identified and helped execute a recent acquisition for the group in line with the wider strategy to help maintain future growth and profitability for the business.

As a recognised forward thinking leader within our business, Andy is now heading up Facilities – comprising the majority of Brit’s Lloyd’s Binding authority classes to include Property Facilities, Accident & Health, Small North American Liability plus Legal Expenses & Structured Solutions.
